Jerry Lawson and Talk Of The Town live at Yoshi's in San Francisco...I hope your ready for some joyful noise...this is the tape from the #1 camera disregard the occasional tics, camera #2 is a wide shot that never moves so we can go to that footage in post to tweak it. I think the audio is pretty good from my mike, but I'm easy, David Gans recorded the audio and we'll probably be using that audio, not my call...enjoy...

As it turned out, we didn't change anything, this wonderful audio is as it was recorded live with my Canon XL1...I consider this to be one of my best efforts as a videographer...I started shooting live performances in 1985 and now, some 26 years later, with my trail narrowing and having recently experienced a heart attack at the conclusion of a 3 day taping marathon I find myself surfin' through my efforts and it occurs to me that I posted this as a private event so that Jerry and the Boys would be able to control it's use...I think that purpose has been served. Julie Lawson released it to me a few months ago for airing on bebopvideos.com and I've made a pretty common practice of airing the entire show once a week on Sundays...

this just in...So this week the news is that Jerry’s debut CD with Talk of The Town is now available digitally including the 20 page booklet of liner notes and song comments! You know the CD that was released 3 years ago but we were too old school in our ways to make it available as individual tracks. Well It’s time for us to get on board with the changing world. If any of you haven’t heard of this show it began last year during the holiday season. It’s like American Idol only it’s all A Cappella groups!!! How about that! A Cappella on mainstream, primetime, major network TV & featuring Jerry!! The show premiers 12/6 and it’s 2 hours long. Their audience is 7.5 million viewers per episode and there are 5 episodes. The mystery is how many episodes will Jerry and Talk of The Town make it through? It’s all so exciting!"

Jerry Lawson here, lead singer , arranger & producer of The Persuasions for 40 years. Pretty touching that you have those memories of us 35 years later. Sure would love to hear those ids we did. Some fun times. Did you know I left The Pers in 2004? Thought I was through with a cappella but the universe had other plans.
